The Bloodsuckers release party at Dragon’s Lair in Austin on August 27 was a load of fun! Regular playtesters and newbies alike showed up to battle it out over Blackwood as vampires or hunters. Games ran the whole night, and delicious cake with a blood red cherry filling and a dry ice fountain lured onlookers to the scene.
Everyone missed having Justin at the party (who was at PAX introducing Northwesterners to the game), but Anne-Marie, the other half of Fireside Games and Bloodsuckers’ other designer, was there to welcome the partiers and give the game a rousing beginning. We were thrilled to have so many of the playtesters show up hungry to play the game again—a great comment on the game’s draw and replayability. Their enthusiasm really caught the attention of shoppers, as did the dry ice on the cake! Fireside Games would love to hype our shy baker, but he prefers to remain anonymous. He does show up to all the parties, though, if anyone wants to come meet the cake designer and get a bite of the cakes we so fail to sufficiently describe here . . . Check out the video of the night below.
Our next release party will be for Bears! at Wonko’s Toy & Games September 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. We’ll be holding a tournament at 9:00 and giving a free copy of the game to the winner! Oh, yes, and there will be cake and goody bags too! Hope to see you there!
