Announcing the Castle Panic Big Box!

Posted on
Castle Panic Big Box

Ten years ago, we launched Fireside Games with the release of Castle Panic. Back then cooperative games were still a new category, and we weren’t sure how well our tower defense game was going to be received. It didn’t take long to realize Castle Panic had a lot of fans, and they wanted more!

Over the years, we’ve created 3 expansions to keep players on their toes, and one of the questions we get asked most often is “Can I buy all of them at once?” Now, as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Castle Panic, we are super excited to announce the Castle Panic Big Box coming in July!

For the first time ever, we’re offering Castle Panic, The Wizard’s Tower, The Dark Titan, and Engines of War all in one awesome box. This limited-edition collection includes full versions of all the games as well as 12 promo items. We’re including all the promo cards we’ve created for all the Panic games, as well as all the promo towers originally created as part of International TableTop Day. We’ve even turned a few non-card promos into playable cards. The promo cards include Any Color Hero, Feather, Crossbow, Fickle Fortune, All for One, Agranok Level 6, and Jury Rig. The promo towers included are from 2015 all the way up to the brand-new 2019 tower, each with their own rule.

Castle Panic Big Box Full Game

In addition to the promo items, we’ve revised the rules so now all the games are included in a single, comprehensive rulebook. The new rulebook includes setup guides that make it easy to play with any combination of expansions.

The game box features a plastic insert tray with storage for every piece from every expansion, making it easy to setup the game and get started. Plus, the bottom of the box lid has a handy image showing where every component is stored in the tray to help with putting the game away.

It’s been an amazing 10 years and we hope players are as excited for this great collection as we are. The Castle Panic Big Box makes a great way to complete a game collection or start a new one.

My First Castle Panic - Whole game

Overview

Based on the best-selling cooperative hit Castle Panic, My First Castle Panic now brings the same exciting, edge-of-your-seat, team-based experience to even younger players. Streamlined gameplay teaches strategic thinking, as players work to match colors and shapes, all while planning ahead, taking turns, and cooperating.

Each player’s turn consists of these 4 steps in this order:

1. Draw 1 card
2. Play 1 card from your hand
OR
Ask for help from 1 other player
3. Move the monsters
4. Draw 1 monster token

The players win if they catch all the monsters and the castle is still standing. If the castle gets knocked flat, the players lose.

My First Castle Panic Board

The board features a winding path with the monsters starting on the left side and spaces for the wall and castle on the right. Spaces along the path feature a unique color and shape that the players must match to catch the advancing monsters.

The castle and walls are easy to assemble and look great when towering over the board.

Most of the monsters are goblins, but there are 3 special monsters with unique powers that will keep the players on their toes.

Catching monsters means playing a card that matches the color (red, green, or blue) and the shape (circle, square, or triangle) of the space the monster is in.

Special cards allow players to catch monsters in a space of any color or any shape, to return a monster to the draw pile, or to rebuild the wall.

The bottom of the box features a Dungeon, where captured monsters are kept.

Now Available

Grackles are noisy, iridescent birds that love to gather on telephone wires at sunset throughout the southwestern United States. In this lightly themed abstract strategy game, you’ll line up as many of your birds on the telephone wire to score as many points as possible. Each turn, players choose between drawing and placing a tile, connecting 2 spots on the telephone wire with their birds, extending a line of birds, or rotating an empty tile. After the board has been built to 5 tiles by 5 tiles and all available pairs of spots on the telephone wire have birds on them, the player with the most birds on the telephone wire is the winner.

Overview

Grackles is a lightly themed abstract strategy game in which players line up as many of their birds in a row on telephone wires. On each turn, players take 1 action:

• place a tile with 4 colored spots and telephone wires,
• connect 2 matching spots with their birds,
• extend an existing line of their birds,
• or rotate an unoccupied tile.

The player with the most birds on wires at the end of the game wins.

Grackles-Tiles

A newly drawn tile must be placed adjacent (not diagonally) to a tile already on the board. All 25 tiles must end up forming a square of 5 tiles by 5 tiles.

Grackles-Birds

Each player has a choice of 45 beautiful acrylic, debossed tokens of blue, green, purple, and black birds.

Grackles-Rotate-Token

Up to 5 times per game, you may choose to rotate an empty tile, keeping it in the same space.

Overview

Remnants takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. Each  player builds a compound and fights to survive Raiders and mutant creatures. The game is played in 5 phases: Scavenge, Build, Fight, Heal, and Cleanup. In the Scavenge phase, you send Survivors into the Badlands to roll dice in a real-time race for Resources. In the Build phase, you take turns spending those Resources to buy weapon, defense, and special development cards that enhance your compound. When threats attack, you’ll roll dice and use abilities followed by a Level 2 threat, and then finally face down the Raider Boss. After the final attack, the game ends and the player with the most Victory points is the winner.

Player-Board-Remnants

Each player will play as 1 of 4 Tribes and the dice can be used in two different ways, gathering Resources or Fighting.

Remnants-Tokens

There are Resource tokens to be found in the wastelands along with Bonus tokens. Victory Points are flavor packets because in the future, flavor is the most valuable commodity.

Remnants-Development-Cards

Development cards are constructed with resources you find in the Badlands and used to improve your score or combat the Dread Cards and Bosses.

Remnants-Survivor-Tokens

There are 2 types of people in a Tribe: Survivors and Specialists. Players decide how to commit their people to gain Resources and Loot.

Remnants-Badlands-Cards

Badland cards effect the badlands and your survivors as they gather Resources and Loot.

Remnants-Dread-Cards

Dread cards are the Raiders and Creatures you have to survive or fight.

Game Includes

  • 4 Monster Figures and plastic stands
  • 4 Monster Tiles
  • 5 Movement Cards
  • 6 Objective Cards
  • 13 Special Ability Cards
  • 38 City Tiles
  • 80 Territory Markers
    20 Combat Victory Tokens
  • 4 Reference Cards
  • Rulebook

Overview

In Kaiju Crush, you play as one of 2 to 4 giant monsters who have descended on the same city to fight for supremacy. On your turn, use either your own Movement Card or a Shared Movement Card to land your Monster on a new City Tile (crushing it). You’ll pick up that City Tile and drop one of your Territory Markers in its place. Both the City Tile and the Territory Marker help you gain points based on the Objective Cards.

Points are also generated by fighting either a Monster on an adjacent space or a Monster occupying a Territory Marker. Each Monster also has their own unique fighting ability as well as Special Abilities that change every game. Winners of either type of battle gain a random Combat Victory Token worth 1 to 3 points. Winners of Territory Battles also replace the current Territory Marker with their own, which may help meet objectives as well as thwart opponents. When no Monster can move, the game is over, and the Monster with the most victory points is supreme!

Kaiju-Crush

Each player will play as 1 of these 4 giant monsters with a special fighting ability, shown on the Monster Tile.

Kaiju-Crush-Special-Ability-Card

You’ll also have a Special Ability that changes every game.

Kaiju-Crush

Each City Tile is a building that your kaiju smashes. They are organized into 4 Groups: Commercial, Community, Power, and Transportation and range in value from 1 to 5 points.

Kaiju-Crush

Each turn, you’ll have 2 movement options for crushing those buildings.

Kaiju-Crush

When you crush a building, you’ll replace it with 1 of your Territory Markers.

Kaiju-Crush-Objective-Cards

Depending on where those Territory Markers land, you’ll be able to meet the public objectives for points.

Kaiju-Crush-Combat-Victory-Tokens

You can also gain Combat Victory Tokens when you fight opponent kaiju. You’ll pick 1 randomly, which will be worth 1 to 3 points.

Game Includes

  • 4 Crew cards

  • 15 Firebreak tokens

  • 29 Fire cards

  • 4 Firefighter tokens and stands

  • 6 Firefighting dice

  • 25 Flame tokens

  • 16 Reward tokens

  • 19 Terrain tiles

  • 3 Vehicle tokens

  • 1 Wind marker and stand

  • 1 Rulebook

Overview

Crews of 1 to 4 players take on the roles of wildfire fighters (Crew Boss, Spotter, Swamper, and Sawyer) with special abilities and roll dice on burning terrain tiles to match the combinations shown on the tiles. The more faces you roll, the better you fight the fire. Choose to cut Firebreaks, which prevent fires from being spread by wind gusts, or push your luck to reduce Flames and possibly even generate Reward Tokens. If you bust and fail to match at least 3 of the 6 symbols on the tile, the fire grows. Another option is to maneuver Vehicles (Air Tanker, Helicopter, and Brush Rig) to save the forest.

Flame tokens are added at the end of each player’s turn by the draw of a Fire card, which can bring about light or strong wind gusts, increase the strength of the flames on certain tiles, and start fires. Too many Flame tokens will cause a tile to Scorch and be lost. Losing a terrain tile could also affect the game play. Some tiles are tied to crewmembers’ special abilities, while others help the firefighters and still others cause the fire to spread in unique ways. If 8 tiles or the Fire Camp Scorches, the game is over and the forest is lost. But if your intrepid crew can extinguish the fire, your team wins together.

The press-your-luck mechanic with ratcheting rewards creates a lot of great tension, and the variety of ways to fight the fire makes for interesting choices. The modular tile layout and Fire cards bring high replayability to the game, and the beautiful acrylic Flame tokens provide an enticing table presence.

Hotshots-Tiles

The Terrain Tiles are where all of the action takes place. Crewmembers move to burning tiles to put out fires and lay firebreaks. Most tiles also have a special effect in the game.

Each player will choose a Firefighter to play, either the Crew Boss, Spotter, Swamper, or Sawyer. The special ability for their role can be found on the Crew card.

Players roll the dice to match the unique combinations needed to fight the fires on each tile.

Hotshots-Fire-Break

Firebreak tokens can be laid between tiles to protect from embers.

Hotshots-Vehicles

Players who make it to the Air Attack Base can use the Brush Rig, Helicopter, and Air Tanker to deal big blows to the fire.

Hotshots-Fire-Cards

At the end of each turn, players draw a Fire card, which will intensify or spread the Flames.

Hotshots Flame Tokens

The Flame tokens that indicate the peril of each tile.

Hotshots-Wind-Marker

The Wind token sits on the Fire Base tile and indicates the direction Wind gusts blow when they show up on the Fire cards.

Hotshots-Reward-Token

When players fight a fire and match at least 5 dice combinations on the tile, they can randomly select a Reward token, which will help in fighting future fires.

Put your Zombie Apocalypse team to the test with the cooperative board game Dead Panic.

Choose a Character and make your stand together in a remote Cabin, in the center of the board, against waves of the undead that close in from the edges of the board. Ranged weapons let you attack from a distance, but if the Zombies break through the walls, you will have to fight them hand-to-hand. Items scavenged from the Cabin can give you an advantage, but supplies are limited.

If you can survive long enough, Survivors will bring the pieces of the radio needed to call for rescue. Once rescue arrives, it’s up to each Character to leave the Cabin and make it out alive!

Munchkin Panic

munchkin-panic-3d-box-cover-art

Munchkin Panic is a semi-cooperative board game that blends the all-for-one gameplay of Castle Panic and the all-for-me gameplay of Munchkin.

In this hybrid game, the Munchkin Monsters have found the Castle Panic towers and are on the rampage!

Players must balance their self-interest with the cooperation necessary to survive. If players get too greedy, the Monsters will stomp the Castle flat while the players are too busy fighting amongst themselves.

The Wizard’s Tower

wizard-tower-game

The Wizard’s Tower is an expansion to the board game Castle Panic. It is not a stand-alone game and requires Castle Panic to play.

Your Castle has been rebuilt, and a friendly Wizard has joined your forces. As long as his Tower stands, you have access to powerful magic spells. And you’ll need them, because the Monsters have returned stronger, faster, smarter, and with new abilities to threaten the Castle. You’ll fight against magical Imps, evasive flying creatures, and more. Make your stand against six new, dangerous Mega Boss Monsters, including the Dragon and the Necromancer. Use fire to attack the Monsters, but beware, your Walls and Towers can be burned down as well!

Castle Panic

Castle-Panic-Box

Castle Panic is a cooperative tower defense board game for 1 to 6 players. The co-op element makes Castle Panic a great family game, and the perfect kick-off for your weekly game night.

You must work together to defend your Castle, in the center of the board, from Monsters that attack out of the forest, at the edges of the board. Trade cards, hit and slay Monsters, and plan strategies together to keep your Castle towers intact.

Win or lose as a team, but only the player with the most victory points is declared the Master Slayer. Players must balance the survival of the group with their own desire to win.
