The December issue of GAMES Magazine hits shelves today and inside it you’ll find their list of the Top 100 Traditional Games as well as the 2011 Buyer’s Guide to Games. Castle Panic is featured on both of those lists! We’re really honored and excited to have been included in both categories. GAMES Magazine has been around since 1977 and has been hugely influential in exposing people to the world of games. It now covers a wide variety of traditional and electronic games and remains one of the largest publications of hobby game news and reviews. They know games and they won’t recommend something if it is isn’t fun, so it really is fantastic to have made the cut. Ironically, Castle Panic was reviewed in GAMES Magazine back in March of this year, but I haven’t been able to link to an electronic version of the review. I’m working on fixing that so stay tuned.
In addition, the next printing of Castle Panic will feature the logo for the Traditional Games 100 award on the cover, along with the seal for the Origins Award Nominee. Sheesh, if we win any more awards, I’m going to have to completely redesign the cover!
I can still remember picking up my first copy of GAMES as a kid and being blown away at all the puzzles, mind-teasers and well, games that were packed into this thing. To now be featured inside that magazine is truly humbling. If you’ve never looked through a copy, do yourself a favor and pick up the December issue. The Buyer’s Guide alone makes it a keeper, but be warned, some of the puzzles they put in there are fiendishly challenging!
