While we were at Gen Con I had the opportunity to meet the guys from The Spiel, the game review and news podcast, and spend a little time answering some of their questions about Castle Panic. It turns out they were working pretty hard at the convention because they just posted their podcast of all the different game companies they interviewed and there’s a lot of good stuff in there! Sorry for the delay in posting, but I got stuck in Indianapolis after GenCon and ended up spending all of yesterday at the airport, waiting to get home.

Wow, that was a lot of fun! We just got back from Columbus, Ohio and the Origins Game Fair and we had a blast. The show was huge and we met a ton of fans and made a bunch of new friends. Unfortunately, we didn’t come back with the Origins Award, but just being nominated and having such great exposure still feels like winning to us. Continue reading Origins, Origins and more Origins!
Hey everyone. If you’re in the Austin area and love games, especially NEW games, I want to let you know about Protospiel South that’s happening this weekend. It’s the same idea as the classic Protospiel convention that’s held every year up in Michigan, except thanks to Austin’s own Jonathan Leistiko, we’re getting our own version of it here in Texas.
To quote their own website; “Protospiel South is a gathering for amateur and established game designers to test and promote nearly-finished game prototypes. The atmosphere is casual, yet everyone is serious about their goals and dreams of publishing games.”
It’s a great idea and a fun wayto see new game ideas that may eventually make it onto the shelves of your local game store. Today is mostly setup and registration, but tomorrow and Sunday will be where the gaming gets started. The convention takes place at the Best Western Atrium North, in Austin and admission is $20 at the door for a day pass, or $30 for the entire weekend.
The Origin Award Nominees were announced last Friday and Castle Panic has been nominated in the Board Game Category! For those of you unfamiliar with the Origin awards they are a bit like the Academy Awards for games. You might say we’re a little excited around here . . . Continue reading Castle Panic Nominated for an Origin Award!
Well, I just got back from my whirlwind trip out to Las Vegas for the GAMA Trade Show. This was our first time attending GTS and it was quite an experience. Continue reading GAMA Trade Show Wraps Up!
Well it’s much to early here in Austin, but I’m about to head out to Las Vegas for the GAMA Trade Show. I’ll be at the PSI booth in a few hours taking in all the goodness of the convention and showing off Castle Panic. Later tonight there’s a special game night where I’ll be running demos non-stop as well. Oh, and did I mention it’s in Vegas baby?!
If you’re going to be attending GTS this year, please come by the PSI booth and say hello! I’ll have more updates soon.
SaltCon, the gaming convention based in Salt Lake City starts today. If you’re one of the lucky people that will be attending the con this weekend but you haven’t had a chance to try Castle Panic you’re in luck. There will be demonstration games being played during the convention and we urge you to give it a try. Continue reading Castle Panic Demos at SaltCon!
We’re heading up to Dallas tonight to get set up for the start of the BoardGameGeek Convention tomorrow (BGGCon for short). We’ll be selling copies of Castle Panic, meeting lots of new folks and people we haven’t seen since last year’s convention, and generally having far too much fun than should be allowed in 4 days.
As such, there may be a delay in email responses, but things should be back to normal by Monday.
Hope to see you there!
