(We can’t show you what it is yet, because it is still a secret, but soon, my friends, soon!)
One of the biggest challenges in creating Munchkin Panic was trying to find the balance between the two games. Finding the sweet spot between cooperative play and competitive backstabbing wasn’t easy, but Anne-Marie kept at it. In this video she explains some of the steps she took and how the two games have come together.
So you’ve heard about this new game of ours, and you’re curious as to what exactly it’s going to be? Maybe you’d like to know how Munchkin Panic will be different from the two source games? Well, luckily for you, we just happen to have a short interview with Anne-Marie, the designer of the game, where she answers your questions!
For those of you who wanted to see more of Munchkin Panic, the wait is over! Anne-Marie filmed not one, but two different unboxing videos of our upcoming release. The first video is just a quick unboxing, showing all the components that you’ll get in your lovely box of loot.
The second one goes deeper, with Anne-Marie showing off the components in more detail , giving you some behind-the-scenes info on the making of the game, as well as explaining more of how the gameplay is different from both Castle Panic and Munchkin. Grab some popcorn and dim the lights, it’s movie time!
Sunday was the first ever Fireside Games Day at Emerald Tavern, and it was jam-packed with orcs, zombies, and fans of Fireside Games! Continue reading Emerald Tavern Hosts Some Fun and Games!
How do you show people a game BEFORE the game is available to be shown? That was our conundrum when trying to come up with a way to share the art and details behind Munchkin Panic when we didn’t have a copy of the game to share yet.
Then, our brilliant Sales & Marketing Manager Kris said, “Why not make a photo book of the art with details about the game design and what makes it different from both Castle Panic and Munchkin?” And we all applauded and then got to work! “Munchkin Panic–A Peek Under the Helmet” was born.
While this project was initially intended to be a print project it became clear we had some great information to share will all of you. So, we turned it into a slideshow. Then we decided it was kind of dry with no sound so our Marketing team turned the slideshow into a movie and narrated it for your viewing pleasure.
We hope this answers some of your burning questions, and maybe even generates some new ones. We are very excited to be sharing this information with you and will be adding more videos about the making of Munchkin Panic and showing you what the actual game will look like as we get our production samples and it gets ready to hop on a boat and make its way to your game libraries.
You will be able to view the printed copies of this book at upcoming shows in the booth of our friends at Steve Jackson Games, as well as in our booth at GenCon (along with the advance copy demos we’ll be running).
If you’re in Austin this Sunday, July 27th, come on out to Emerald Tavern for Fireside Games Day! We’ll be showing off demos of all our games and giving away some cool swag. Anne-Marie and Justin will both be there, so you can learn how to play Castle Panic, Dead Panic, and Bears! straight from the designers themselves.
Ask them your burning Castle Panic questions and even get a special preview of our upcoming release Munchkin Panic! It’s all free and the fun runs from 1:00 to 6:00 pm!

We will be accepting pre-orders for Munchkin Panic, and there will be a little surprise bonus for anyone who orders through us directly. Another surprise? Why, yes, yet another surprise!
We will also have the Dead Panic Bullet bookmarks we revealed on Facebook in May. Who couldn’t use extra ammunition when fighting off the zombie horde?

Saturday was the big day! All across the world people got together and played games and we can blame it all (mostly) on Wil Wheaton and his great show. Continue reading The Greatness of TableTop Day!
Coming Fall 2014!
We are excited to announce our next new game: Munchkin Panic!
The Munchkin Monsters have invaded the Castle Panic Towers and are on the rampage! Anne-Marie De Witt has designed a crazy, clever, and addictive new game based on designs by Justin De Witt (Castle Panic) and Steve Jackson (Munchkin) in what is a semi-cooperative game of all-for-one meets all-for-me!
Players combine cards to hit Monsters before they destroy the Castle. Each defeated Monster becomes a Trophy and gives up its Treasure to the victor. If players work together to defeat the Monsters, they up their chances of survival and the player with the highest point count becomes the Master Munchkin. However, if players get too greedy, the Monsters will stomp the Castle to the ground while players are busy fighting over Treasure!
Two worlds collide in this game of hopeful, desperate, and addictive twists featuring the iconic Munchkin art by John Kovalic and the innovative play design of Fireside Games and Steve Jackson Games.
The game accommodates players ages 10 and up and can be played solo or with up to 6 players at a time. MSRP is $39.95.
Stay tuned for more details as the game enters its final development phases and goes into production. Be sure to ask your Friendly Local Game Store to carry this title and watch for it on shelves this Fall!
