Last Sunday saw us filling Wonko’s Toys & Games with over 40 people, all of them defending castles, running from bears, staking vampires and eating cake. Not necessarily in that order.
The official launch party was a great success, with lots of fans getting a chance to play an old favorite, or try something new. Our custom cake was a delicious hit as always. This one, themed around our road trip had the highway passing by the Church and Hospital from Bloodsuckers, the castle and Wizard’s Tower, as well as a pair of tents in a Bears! campsite. Did we mention it was really tasty too?
Monday we hit the road and headed west. We passed through sage and scrub, losing radio stations and cell service along the way. We spent our first night in El Paso and then headed out bright and early on Tuesday to finish the journey. The deserts of Arizona and New Mexico are really beautiful and we were kind of sad we could only for gas and restroom breaks. We pushed on through and arrived at the edge of the continent that night.
“We kick off the tour at Wonko’s and head for L.A.!”

We’ve been resting and catching up on business before Strategicon begins tomorrow. If you’re in the LA area and plan on attending, make sure you come by and say hi! We’ll be at our booth for most of the convention, but there will be a Q&A session Saturday at 8p.m. that I’ll be part of where you’ll get your chance to grill Richard Breese and myself about all sorts of stuff. Sunday we’ll have signings and a Bears! tournament, so it will be a blast all around.
We’ll be announcing store visits in San Diego and Los Angeles shortly, so if you can’t make it to the Con, you can still get some Fireside goodness!
